Can I collect my order and save on postage fees?

Of course – please keep in mind that we are based in Oakleigh, Melbourne, Australia.

If you’ve never collected an order before, please contact us for the address details, as it is a private address, not a shop. We will let you know when the order will be available to collect and you can simply drop by and pick it up at a suitably convenient time.

What is your return policy?

Coffee Returns
At WithOneBean, we pride ourselves on ensuring that we are only sending out high quality roasted specialty coffee. We can’t guarantee refunds on coffee purchases but should your order arrive damaged or spoiled, please contact us at info@withonebean.org.au to discuss.

Merchandise/Equipment Returns
WithOneBean has a 14 day return policy. We agree to assist in the refund, return or replacement of any damaged or defective good (s) but require the following;

  • Merchandise items must be returned unused, in original and new condition including all original packaging.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • WithOneBean does not cover return shipping costs.

If we receive the goods and they appear to have been used or without original packaging, a refund will not be issued.

What are your office hours?

Our “office” is wherever we are working at the time, with the mobile phone, a laptop computer and wifi. We aim to be able to take your calls during business hours when possible, but if we’re busy or on another call please do leave us a message and we will get back to you within 24 hours (on business days).

Most of our operation is run by volunteers, so that we can deliver more of the benefits back to the producer communities, so we appreciate your understanding when we aren’t available 9-5 every day.

Roastery and Warehouse

We are very close to having our new roastery and warehouse space in Oakleigh, Melbourne, open to the public.

The warehouse will be a unique space where many different and exciting projects are taking shape.

The roastery will be open during certain hours for coffee pick up (you can even grab a coffee to go) and the warehouse will be open by appointment.

Please check back for updates.

How long does WithOneBean coffee stay fresh for?

We believe that our coffee is best consumed within 4 weeks and shouldn’t be stored in the fridge.

I want to offer WithOneBean coffee at my cafe/business/workplace. How can I do this?

Awesome!

Please get in touch via morebeans@withonebean.org.au to discuss options available to you.

I’m looking for someone to roast my own coffee beans or somewhere to roast my own coffee beans.

We would love for you to get in contact! We can roast beans for you or you can roast your own. Contact info@withonebean.org.au to discuss options available to you.

Do you hire out your coffee trikes and carts?

We sure do!

We have both coffee trikes and coffee carts to hire out for private events/festivals/markets within Melbourne and Victoria.

Both the trikes and carts are fitted out with commercial 2 group espresso machines and hire includes 2 baristas.

Our full menu of beverages includes our ethical, social, environmental specialty coffee as well as a range of teas (including herbal), hot chocolate, chai and turmeric lattes. We can also arrange to provide homemade cakes and biscuits should you require.

We endeavour to only use ethical and organic products sourced directly from farmers, and if your event allows for it, we prefer to use washable cups to combat the disposable cup scourge.

Contact us at trikes@withonebean.org.au

Is WithOneBean coffee organic?

WithOneBean does not carry an organic certification, however all processes are organic and natural.

Is WithOneBean coffee fair trade?

WithOneBean coffee does not carry the fair trade certification, instead, we operate a direct trade model which is a term used in the coffee industry to denote coffee bought straight from the growers, cutting out some of middlemen in the supply chain and also the organisations that control certifications.

Labels and logos are great, but at WithOneBean, we’re far more interested in the facts:

  1. We put people before profits. We know our producer partners by name and respect their choices as if they were our own
  2. We think laterally about business. If there’s a better way to benefit producers or structure agreements, we’ll give it a go
  3. We’re ambitious: we commit to communities for the long haul, measuring our success in terms of social change, not shipments

Where do your profits go?

WithOneBean returns profits to environmental and educational initiatives in Timor-Leste.

WithOneSeed is the first Gold Standard verified carbon forestry program in Timor Leste. It is working with subsistence farming communities to replant their forests thereby creating a carbon store to build local economies, deliver practical education and training in agroforestry and permaculture to create a more sustainable, equal and just world.

WithOnePlanet open education supports teaching about environmental viability, culture awareness, active citizenship and linking school communities in Australia and Timor Leste through technology and travel programs.

Who owns WithOneBean?

WithOneBean is an initiative of The xpand Foundation. The xpand Foundation is committed to an inclusive society that values the sustainable livelihood and happiness of every individual. The xpand Foundation creates and supports enterprises that encourage social inclusion of disadvantaged people to build their social and economic participation in a society committed to a green future in the digital age.

What does working towards carbon neutrality mean?

Carbon neutrality, or having a net zero carbon footprint, refers to achieving net zero carbon emissions by balancing a measured amount of carbon released with an equivalent amount sequestered or offset, or buying enough carbon credits to make up the difference.

We choose to offset so that we can reduce our carbon footprint and our impact on the environment.

We choose to buy CarbonSocial credits because they are much more than just a standard carbon offset. Not only does every CarbonSocial credit remove a tonne of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, it also supports subsistence communities in Timor-Leste, delivers education and training, and creates regional partnerships.

We know that it’s simple actions by many people that will make the biggest impact on climate change – so get involved!
